Berber carpet

Berber carpet usually has small flecks of dark color on lighter shades of background colors, but can also be uniform in appearance. This style of carpet contains different sizes of tufts. Interior decorators are more commonly recommending berber carpet for its modern style.

The construction of berber carpet involves long loops that extend from one side of the room to the other. These loops can vary in height. A tight weave is lower to the floor and a loose weave extends higher and provides more padding.

Berber carpet has one distinct disadvantage over traditional carpet. If one of its loops is caught by something sharp, the loop can be pulled up. If this happens, immediately cut the loop. Otherwise, if the loop is pulled at a later time by accident it can be lifted from one end of the floor to another.
