Carpet tiles
Carpet tiles are an inexpensive alternative to wall-to-wall
carpeting. Wall-to-wall carpeting is one piece of measured carpet professionally
installed in a room. In contrast, carpet tiles are individual pieces
of carpet that are pieced together on the floor.
Consumers who do not have the budget for professional installation
of wall-to-wall carpeting should look into carpet tiles. The Home Depot
do-it-yourself guide suggests that one of the few tasks that is too
difficult for even the most experienced do-it-yourselfers is installing
wall-to-wall carpet. However, installing carpet tiles is relatively
easy.
Carpet tiles come in premeasured sizes such as 12 inches by 12 inches.
Some have a peel away backing so that the tile simply sticks onto the
floor. Carpet tiles are ideal for areas that need to be covered but
will not be seen by guests when company is over. Consider carpet tiles
for the basement area.
