Rugs

Consumers shopping for rugs should be able to differentiate between the term carpet and rug. Typically carpeting refers to wall-to-wall fabric that requires padding and professional installation. In contrast, rugs do not cover an entire floor space and can be transported by the consumer.

Rugs are often used to set off areas of a room. For example, runners are used in hallways. Dining room rugs are placed under dining room tables to accentuate the eating area.

Rugs come in many styles and colors. Modern rugs feature shapes that resemble contemporary art. More traditional rugs like Oriental rugs feature patterns that have been used for centuries.

Carpet cleaning keeps carpet looking new and may be required in order to meet the guidelines for a carpet warranty.
